The Potter’s Reset is where hands create, hearts soften, and new strength begins to form.

About

Helene

Hi, I’m Helene Pouwels, a support worker, carer, creative, coach and woman of faith.

My journey has moved through deep valleys and beautiful renewals. I spent ten years navigating personal struggles as a teenager and young adult, followed by another ten years committed to healing and personal growth. During that time, I trained across multiple modalities, focusing on the mind, body, and spirit, and collected tools that helped reshape my life from the inside out. I also became a mother of identical twin boys.

For the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside others in their healing; originally as a life & wellbeing coach supporting women through depression, and more recently as a support worker, carer and recovery coach, offering one-on-one NDIS support.

Five years ago, my family and I moved to the Yarra Valley to slow down, live closer to nature, and reimagine our rhythm. Not long after, I encountered God in a profoundly personal way, and with that, came an unexpected hunger to work with clay. I followed that nudge, built a pottery studio on our land, and began exploring clay as a healing and expressive medium.

Today, I bring together all these threads: care, creativity, faith, and lived experience, into what is now The Potter’s Reset: a space for women to rest, create, and be gently restored in a peaceful, nurturing environment.

I believe creativity is a gift, a gentle, powerful way to explore who we are and how we heal. Whether through clay, conversation, movement, or stillness, I’ve seen how creative expression can bring clarity, connection, and restoration. At The Potter’s Reset, my heart is to offer women a space where they can reconnect with their creativity, feel supported in their journey, and rediscover the beauty of simply being present.

The Cottage & Studio

Tucked away in peaceful Launching Place in the Yarra Valley, our fully renovated three-bedroom cottage offers a quiet, modern retreat surrounded by nature. Renovated in 2021, the space is clean, light-filled, and designed for rest and comfort: ideal for those seeking time out to reset and reconnect.

Just steps from the cottage, you’ll find our purpose-built studio: a creative and wellness hub that includes a small gym with a treadmill, bike, weights, bench, and resistance bands - perfect for gentle movement and rebuilding strength at your own pace.

The heart of the studio is our pottery space, equipped with hand-building tables, a wheel, and a kiln: inviting you to explore creativity with clay in a calm, nurturing environment. And for cozy nights in, there’s also a projector setup for streaming movies in a cinema-style atmosphere.

Whether you come to rest, create, move, or all of the above, our space is here to support your unique rhythm and journey.

Please note: due to steps and uneven outdoor paths, the accommodation and studio are not currently wheelchair accessible.

Our landmates

Set on six serene acres in the heart of the Yarra Valley, our property is a small hobby farm thoughtfully designed with permaculture principles. We share our land with geese, chickens, sheep, alpacas, and an abundance of native birdlife that fill the air with birdsong each day. You’ll also meet our two very friendly dogs who love gentle company; or, if you prefer space from animals, no problem at all. With gated access throughout the property, we can easily keep the animals at a comfortable distance to suit your needs.

Our land is more than a backdrop; it’s part of the experience. Whether you’re watching the alpacas graze, collecting a fresh egg, or simply enjoying the natural rhythms of the day, this is a place where you can breathe deeper and reconnect with the quiet beauty of creation.

Please note: our terrain includes grassed areas, steps, and uneven ground, so the property is not wheelchair accessible at this time.

Since spending some time with Helene, I gained a lot of confidence. I’m far more positive and more conscious about my thoughts.

Gwenn.
